ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS (E.M.R.)
What is it really and what does it do for me, the patient?
Our primary care practice has always been in the forefront of medical practice for our patients. Dr. Pallay was one of the first primary
care physicians to do office-based endoscopic colon screenings 20 years ago. Our doctor’s have always been active in performing state of the
art gynecologic screenings including PAP-net colposcopy services. We make every effort to keep abreast of new and future coming technologies
that enhance and improve health care delivery to our patients.
Our office entered the electronic medical record delivery system a number of years ago and at the time of this printing; it is only now
being discussed nationally. Each and every patient seen has a full digital record including scanned results. The notes can prompt us to
discuss results or issues on follow-up office visits. In the event of a sudden medication recall, we can do a computer database search
quickly and easily to locate who is using that particular medication and alert them of the possible manufacturer or FDA warnings.
These complex, but essential aspects of one's charting system not only permit simultaneous usage of your record by nurses, physicians
and other staff members, but it also allows our on-call physician to access remotely, your full record, including reports and EKGs. For
example, if you or a loved one was in an emergency, these records can be accessed in mere moments to use for comparative purposes to what
is happening at that moment. And there are extensive passwords and security protection features that ensure only authorized individuals
can access your personal medical records.
We are proud to be one of only a handful of such primary care providers in Morris County and, in fact, statewide and we think that you,
our valued patients stand to gain immensely now and in years to come from our early involvement and vast experience in such state of the
art health care applications. Please, ask us if you have any questions regarding your personalized Electronic Medical Record.
