Changebridge Medical Associates in the Community
Dr. Pallay currently serves on the Montville Township Board of Health and is also a founding trustee member of the Screen for Life program in Morris County. This non-profit organization, conceived by former County Freeholder and state Senator Joe Pennacchio, obtains funds for women without means or insurance so they may receive Pap tests, mammograms and other well health exams for women. A half hour show hosted by former Governor Christine Todd Whitman included footage with both Dr. Pallay and our own Carole Schachter, M.S., PA-C discussed breast cancer awareness topics. Each of the 21 New Jersey counties has a medical society that serves as a local component of the Medical Society of New Jersey and as a past President of the Morris County Medical Society, Dr. Pallay has presided over one of the most active county medical societies in New Jersey. He is also the Past President of the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians. That is a 1300+-member state specialty society of physicians specializing in the care of patients from birth through adulthood. More recently, Dr. Pallay was appointed in 2008 to serve on the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) national Commission on Finance and Insurance for a four-year term. In that capacity, he helps set the health insurance industry offerings and budgetary process for the 90,000 member Academy headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas. Dr. Pallay has served on the Executive Advisory Council to four large areas Managed Care Plans. These plans include Prudential Healthcare, US Healthcare, Cigna and Comed Health plans. He helps to assure quality standards are maintained for both physician providers and for their patients. In addition, his consultative role helps our patients when there may be issues to resolve between you and your insurance plan. Dr. Pallay is actively working with New Jersey state representatives to introduce a bill to Congress that will require insurance companies to at least cover the cost of all vaccines. Dr. Iannetta has been the Chairman of the Department of Family Practice at St. Clares Hospital for the last four years. In this position, he coordinates all educational programs and approves new physician members for the active family medicine department of St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. Dr. Iannetta and his wife Kristine are active members of the organization Foster and Adoptive Family Services. He is a Committee member of Boy Scout troop 177 of Parsippany, NJ. Dr. Iannetta can often be found on local cable stations as a guest lecturer on a variety of health topics for “Here’s to your health”. Drs. Pallay and Iannetta have served as coordinators and teachers for the resident physicians–in training, in the skills of obstetrics at the Atlantic Health System residency program at Mountainside Hospital.
In addition to their many community-based activities, they share the responsibility of being the Team Physicians for several area football teams and also serve as volunteer school physicians for area nursery and academy schools. All the physicians in our office are faculty appointed and we teach medical students, physician assistants and nurse practitioners from the two state medical schools: Robert Wood Johnson and New Jersey Medical Schools as well as the Graduate School of Health Professions at Seton Hall University. Dr. Pallay holds a clinical appointment in the Seton Hall University postgraduate department and he lectures there annually to the graduating senior student class. As part of our active geriatric practice focus, Dr. Pallay has served as Medical Director for several area nursing homes and currently has similar administrative duties with Chelsea at Montville where he was recently recognized for twenty years of service as its original and only medical director. Our office has been chosen as a community-based research site for recent medication releases. This allows our patients to choose if they wish to join a research protocol; patients can benefit from the latest advances in medication research, free testing and medication supplies. We have completed studies on new antibiotics, gastrointestinal aids, hepatitis C review diabetic medications and may be embarking on a study of practical solutions for those suffering from insomnia. A practice is required to pass stringent guidelines for investigational review with Quintiles, a nationally recognized group, to enroll in these studies. Changebridge Medical Associates is one of only a handful of such sites to have been approved in New Jersey. All physicians in our practice are board certified family practitioners. Board Certification is obtained by maintaining the most up-to-date medical knowledge and sitting for recertification boards every six years. We are very proud to say not only are our physicians certified but they have been recertified each time they have taken their boards. Dr. Pallay has had three thus far, and Dr. Iannetta’s most recent recertification exam will be in the summer of 2008. Our Physician Assistants are also board certified and have passed recertification examinations as well. Area volunteer work such as serving on town event committees, activities sponsored by the Montville Health Department for area residents such as the Flu Clinic, Women’s Health Management and Senior events and acting as physician onsite for area school sporting events are just some of the ways the professional staff at Changebridge Medical participate in community outreach programs. |
